Three friends gathered at the Pine Ridge Road Studio on October 25 to play trios for flute and two clarinets by Beethoven, Krommer, Mozart, Triebensee and Wendt. We had an embarrassment of riches and finished only three pieces. A good reason to return! We three then gathered for Lavender Tea and Wine Time at 4:00 pm with guests from the neighborhood. Memories are made of such good times together. From left to right we are Sandy, Ollie and Teddy.
A chamber ensemble from the Oakhurst Community Concert Band gathered on Saturday August 19 in the Pine Ridge Road Studio for an afternoon of lovely wind quartets by Debussy, Farkas, Haydn, Lickl, Mozart and Paterson among them, followed by wine time and jolly conversation. It was a thoroughly enchanting afternoon enjoyed by all. From left to right, we are Sandy, Mike, Ollie and Joe.

There are about a half dozen compositions and arrangements which were donated with thanks by their creators. The files immediately below and preceding the .MUS and MIDI files are text files. They are indices of the holdings of the University of California Libraries in the form of music scores. Each index below represents the holdings on one instrument. Music scores only -- no videos or CDs in these lists. The French Horn file is less than 100 KBytes, but all the others, except the flute file, are around 1 Mbyte. The flute file is 3.8 MBytes.

The movements were split up because the D.C. of the Menuetto in the single file didn't work; it has been fixed in the separate movement, but the quality of the single MIDI file, above that, is of higher quality than those of the separate movements. It is related to the fact that the original Finale single-file used the Toccata font but the separate files have the Petrucci font layered on it and when saved as a MIDI file there was a lot of corruption of the staccato notes. Take it for what it's worth.

The following offering may have an incorrect catalog designation. I have not been able to find Quatuor Opus 36, No. 2, only Opus 36, No. 1 and Opus 36, No. 3. This one was entitled Quatuor No. 2 and is said by one biographer of Göpfert to be Quatuor Opus 2. Either Göpfert composed five quatuors and this one is Opus 36, No. 2 or there is another one floating around somewhere which is definitively Opus 36, No. 2 and this one is Opus 2. If you find a Quatuor Opus 36, No. 2, please let me know because I'd like to sequence it and correctly designate everything which is here.

The viola part was missing from the autograph used for this transcription, so the cello/contrabass part was doubled and transposed an octave higher for viola. If anyone discovers the original viola part, send it to me and I'll make the substitution in the score.

von Schacht, Theodor, Concerto in Bb for Three Oboes and Orchestra (NAD). This concerto works well for any combination of flutes, oboes and clarinets (transposed). It almost certainly works well for other combinations which I haven't yet tried.
